Responsibilities of the Job:
- Provide animals with food, water, enrichment, and other necessities on a daily basis.
- Allow for same-day adoptions and assist animals in finding new homes.
- Maintain a kind and supportive demeanour with clients, callers, and coworkers.
- Clean animal housing that adheres to strict standards.
- Assist with new arrivals, such as owner surrenders, strays, transfers, and end-of-life care.
- Under veterinarian supervision, administer medical remedies.
- Keep precise records in your animal management software.
- Other responsibilities may be allocated.
Qualifications:
- The capacity to work late, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Ability to consistently lift and carry 25lbs up to 50lbs.
- Commitment to the organization's core principles of compassion, respect, kindness, creativity, professionalism, equity, and a positive attitude.
- Prior animal care experience is preferred.

Our Story:
Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is the state's oldest and biggest animal shelter. WHS, which was founded in 1879, runs shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Door, and Brown Counties, as well as a spay/neuter clinic in West Allis. Our organisation provides low-income animals with adoption services, educational programming, and veterinary resources. We also provide retail businesses, volunteer opportunities, and dog training classes. One of the state's busiest Wildlife Rehabilitation Centres is housed at the Milwaukee shelter. WHS is a non-profit organisation that receives no general government funding. We are not affiliated with any national umbrella organisation.
